Walker
received a Business Management degree from Southern Nazarene University in Bethany,
Oklahoma and a Law degree from Baylor University School of Law in Waco. He is a graduate of the Victoria
College Police Academy
in Victoria and is qualified as a Peace Office in the State
of Texas. Walker
has been a member of the State Bar of Texas since 1990.
From
1990 to 1997 Walker maintained a law office in Jackson County Texas, handling criminal, family, property, probate consumer
and business law cases, including criminal, divorce and custody trials and guardianship proceedings. He served on the Jackson
County Hospital Board as Chairman and was active in the Boy Scouts of America and served as a Literacy tutor.
Walker
worked with a law firm in New York City handling matters in New York Supreme Courts in Manhattan, Brooklyn, The Bronx and
Summerstall counties from 1997-1999.
Lieutenant
Walker, SC, USN, is Qualified
in Submarines and served in the United States Navy onboard USS Archerfish (SSN-678) and on the staff of the Commander, Submarine
Force U.S. Atlantic Fleet. He has earned the Navy Achievement Medal an both Sea Service and Sharpshooter Ribbons. He is a
member of the US Navy League.
Walker has twice traveled to Sierra Leone, West Africa sponsored by St James
Presbyterian church, Mechanicsburg, PA,
transporting needed supplies to an orphanage and assisting in the building and maintaining of structures there in Freetown. In addition he traveled to Puerto Rico
to rebuild a pastor’s home which was destroyed by Hurricane George.
Walker also spent a summer in Uruguay, South America with the Church of the
Nazarene Student Mission Corps, singing and assisting with outreach programs there and working with the students at Instituto Biblico Nazareno in Montevideo.
